COST & ECONOMIC IMPACT OF A FULL-TIME CLIMATE CHANGE RESILIENCE COORDINATOR
The cost of a full-time Climate Change Resilience Coordinator will be at least a minimum
salary for Brazil, currently $1,412 reais per month (or about USD 282). Typically,
employees will begin at this rate, and then three months later, a formal work contract will
be signed if the employer and employee agree to continue their relationship. However,
this minimum doesn’t represent the total cost of an employee, given that they earn 30
days of paid vacation, a 13th-month salary, and additional taxes and fees must be paid.
The total cost to UmRio of a minimum wage salary will be at least $2,211 reais (USD 440)
per month after taxes and benefits. Please see the table below for details.
