After reviewing the SAP recommendations, UmRio and its Boar should discuss and evaluate which
strategies should be implemented. Key to the decisions on which methods should be implemented
is a better understanding of what is most important to Morro do Castro residents regarding climate
change adaptation and resilience. This understanding will only come through additional surveys and
research, ideally in partnership with FioCruz. Once these issues are identified, it will be critical for
UmRio to conduct further research about the best ways to address these concerns and challenges.
The key is a climate change resilience coordinator, as noted in the first recommendation. The chart
below summarizes a suggested process for the recommended initiatives in this SAP.
